WELCOME TO THE FIRST ISSUE
Thanks for subscribing to Frontier Pulse. Each week, we cut through the noise to bring you one standout story from each of the five sectors that matter most: artificial intelligence, blockchain and Web3, robotics, cleantech, and frontier technologies like quantum computing and advanced materials. Quick reads, reputable sources, and a direct link to every full article. Starting with weekly issues, we’ll move to a Tuesday/Friday cadence as we grow. Let’s dive in.
THIS WEEK’S TOP STORIES
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Morgan Stanley Warns a Major AI Leap Is Imminent - and Most of the World Isn’t Ready
In a sweeping new report, Morgan Stanley warns that a transformative breakthrough in artificial intelligence is coming in the first half of 2026, driven by an unprecedented accumulation of compute at America’s top AI labs. The bank’s “Intelligence Factory” model projects a net U.S. power shortfall of 9 to 18 gigawatts through 2028, as developers race to convert Bitcoin mining operations and deploy fuel cells to keep pace with demand. The report predicts AI will become a powerful deflationary force, replicating human work at a fraction of the cost.

BLOCKCHAIN & WEB3
World Launches AgentKit with Coinbase-Backed x402 to Verify Human Identity Behind AI Agents
World, the identity project co-founded by Sam Altman, has launched AgentKit - a developer toolkit that allows AI agents to carry cryptographic proof they are backed by a real, verified human via the World ID system. By integrating with Coinbase and Cloudflare’s x402 protocol for stablecoin micropayments, AgentKit aims to make AI agents verifiable economic participants rather than anonymous automated traffic. The move comes as the agentic commerce market is projected to reach $3–5 trillion by 2030.

Scandlines Deploys “The Baltic Whale,” One of the World’s Largest Battery-Electric Freight Ferries
Scandlines launched its new battery-electric freight ferry, The Baltic Whale, on the Rødby–Puttgarden route between Denmark and Germany on March 10. The 147-metre vessel carries 66 freight units across two decks and completes the 18.5 km crossing in 45 minutes, with a charge time of just 12 minutes via an intelligent docking system. Powered by a 10 MWh battery system, the vessel operates with zero direct emissions under normal conditions - a milestone for short-sea shipping electrification and Scandlines’ goal of emission-free operations by 2040.

Fermilab and MIT Lincoln Lab Achieve Breakthrough in Scalable Quantum Computing with Cryoelectronics
Researchers at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and MIT Lincoln Laboratory have successfully trapped and manipulated ions using in-vacuum cryoelectronics - a proof-of-principle experiment that represents a major step toward building large-scale quantum computers. The collaboration, enabled by two U.S. Department of Energy national quantum research centers, replaced conventional room-temperature controls with compact chips mounted inside the cryogenic environment, addressing one of the biggest scalability bottlenecks in ion-trap quantum computing.

WHAT TO WATCH NEXT WEEK
The fallout from NVIDIA’s GTC announcements continues, with partners expected to share deployment timelines. The EU environment ministers meet this week to discuss EV targets and oil import reduction strategies. And the 20 millionth Bitcoin is expected to be mined any day now - a symbolic milestone for the network’s scarcity thesis.
Stay tuned.
